The Enrolled nurse in the nursing administrator role is responsible for the administrative tasks and supporting in the daily operations in the Nursing department. The role will require a combination of administrative and clinical skills to deliver safe, competent and person-centred quality nursing and clinical care, execution on prescribed treatment plans within the clinic in the most cost effective and efficient way according to Scope of Practice.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Operational efficiency

  • Provide administrative support services to the clinical team.
  • Contain costs without compromising quality.
  • Consolidate SLA with DSP, Mobile service provider in relation to client SLA.
  • Maintain records of legal qualification and registration with professional bodies of the team
  • Take pride in and care for equipment by adhering to maintenance programs and calling for timely repairs.
  • Maintain and improve quality results by implementing and executing recommendations made by the Quality Assurance Specialist.
  • Coordinate clinic activities e.g. MSPs, stats, reporting, clinical audits.
  • Confirm clinical audits bookings with clinics by keeping an appointment diary.
  • Communicate relevant document requirements for client and audit quality and reporting consistently.
  • Management and filing of medical and administrative records, ensuring best-practice standards needed to maintain the structure, content and legal requirements.
  • Provide all documentation required for auditing and assist with the completion of documents.
  • Ensure data is accurately captured on a daily basis on the clinics information system and monthly data template.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures to achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply.
  • Meet customer needs effectively and build productive customer relationships by taking responsibility for customer satisfaction.
  • Managing one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently and within deadlines.
  • Inform Regional Operations Manager promptly of any administrative and client related problem.

Patient Care

  • Focus on consistently meeting customer requirements and enhancing their satisfaction.
  • Determine requirements by working with customers and action requirements accordingly to meet customer needs while providing an exceptional customer service and demonstrating empathy at all times when dealing with the customer.
  •  Ensure confidentiality of data and medical files at all times.
  • Attend to the client promptly.
  • Ensure a tidy reception area and desk.
  • Act as a support technician whenever a need arises within the region. Including conducting audios, spiro and vision in NOH clinics according to the Regional Manager’s schedule.

SKILLS PROFILE

EDUCATION

Required

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 certificate.
  • Registration with South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.

 

Preferred

  • First Aid Level 3

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2-3yrs Relevant experience in the nursing discipline
  • Good telephone etiquette skills

 

KNOWLEDGE

Required

  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of medical industry.
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively and co-operatively with others by establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and control / follow-up skills are essential.
  • Must be customer care oriented.
  • Must be able to use initiative.
  • Fluent in English with a second South African official language recommended.
