Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting/ Financial Management
  • 5 years’ experience in budget, accounting, forecasting and resource allocation in a large, devolved organisation, preferably within the local government sector

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the BRT revenue division
  • Manage the different functions of the division and provide uniform goal and objective
  • Contribute to the development of the governance strategy and the risk management plan
  • Plan, organise and co-ordinate the workflow and manage activities of the revenue division
  • Oversee administrative management of the management accounting unit to ensure all administrative processes are executed within time, cost and quality standards
  • Manage and delegate tasks to subordinates in accordance with needs to ensure productivity
  • Provide guidance with regard to planning of appointed projects or tasks and the approach to investigations
  • Oversee the general ledge transaction and ensure compilations of the required financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy of the income and expenditure reports
  • Ensure that the revenue section performance is in accordance with approved standards and comply with legislative requirements
  • Manage, monitor and analyse the expenditure budget through periodical financial reports and statistics
  • Compile reports on all divisional activities and submit to the Senior Manager Financial accounting.
